Generosity Brooklyn is a multi-charity 5K that will take place, rain or shine, in Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Park on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Bib pick-up begins at 7:30 am and the event kicks off at 9:00 am with a warm-up and stretch with the Brooklynettes.
With your support we raised over $5,000 last year and had a blast doing it! We encourage you to join us this year by signing up to run/walk or by contributing to the cause. Funds raised will allow us to continue to offer independent, confidential, and free counseling and wellness services to active and retired FDNY firefighters and their families.
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
RUN OR WALK on behalf of FoF. Sign up here as an individual or start your own team. Please note there is a $20 registration fee and a $200 fundraising minimum per person. Generosity Brooklyn gives you fundraising tips and we are also here to help. Last year one participant sent out a short fundraising email to her network and by the end of the day had already raised $375! Remember that every little bit counts.
DONATE to the cause: Click here and search for ”Friends of Firefighters” under “Search by supported charity”. No matter which participant’s fundraising page you donate to, all funds are directed to FoF and our mission.
CHEER the participants on: Join us in Prospect Park on March 29. Course map here.
VOLUNTEER at the event:
- Man the FoF table from 7AM-10:30AM (this can be split into shifts)
- Hand out medals to FoF participants as they cross the finish line. This volunteer is asked to arrive before 9AM.
PROMOTE: Encourage your friends and family to run, walk, donate, cheer, volunteer, and/or promote as well!
