Our Firehouse Kitchen Talk with Chief Mike Gala on January 30th could not have been more of a success. Thank you to everyone who came out! We hope to see you at the next talk, held here at Friends of Firefighters on Tuesday, February 27th. Join us for another delicious firefighter-prepared dinner followed by an informative presentation from Lt. Rob Brown, P.A., Ladder 120, on “Heart and Lung Health: How to Retire Healthy From Your Career in the Fire Service.” Rob is Founder and Director of The New York Firefighters Heart and Lung Institute in Manhasset, NY, and has published numerous articles on firefighter health and safety. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to heart and lung diseases that affect firefighters, and will discuss the benefits of being proactive so that one can retire healthy from a career in the fire service. As always, our Firehouse Kitchen Talks are open to active and retired FDNY firefighters. No RSVP necessary, and as Tony Cat says, “Bring a friend.”
