On April 27th, we gathered at Brooklyn’s The Invisible Dog for a fun-filled evening of delicious food, fabulous live music, raffle prizes and fundraising. In our opinion, there was no better way to spend a Friday evening. We saw this event as the perfect occasion to invite the local community to mix and mingle with FDNY members of all generations in an effort to raise awareness of our organization.

We would like to send a profound thank you to everyone who participated in our inaugural Firehouse Chili Cook-Off, especially our competing firefighters from Ladder 118, Ladder 101, Ladder 131, Ladder 110, Engine 33, and Ladder 18/Engine 15. Congratulations to Firefighter John Manning from Ladder 18 in Manhattan for taking home 1st prize for his BBQ Baked Bean Chili. Our event would not have been a success without our sponsors, volunteers and participants. With their help, we raised a substantial amount of funds to help us continue our mission of providing free mental health counseling and wellness services to active and retired FDNY firefighters and their families.

Thank you to all the local businesses, donors, and volunteers who made the night possible, and to our guests who traveled near and far to feast, socialize, and show their support for Friends of Firefighters.
