Sharing Our Story, Expanding Our Impact: The Power of Press and Partnership
At Friends of Firefighters, every press moment serves as a vital bridge to members of the firefighter community who need our support. We extend our deepest gratitude to our media partners who recognize the profound importance of our mission, generously using their platforms to amplify our message, share our impact, and expand our reach across New York City and beyond. To the journalists, editors, and media teams who continue to tell our story with dignity and respect: thank you for helping us ensure that no firefighter or family member ever carries the weight of the job alone.
Public stories and press coverage amplify our reach in two critical ways:
Reaching Firefighters in Need: Media features allow us to connect directly with active members, retirees, spouses, and children who may not yet know that confidential, zero-barrier support exists outside departmental channels.

Building Sustainable Community Support: Elevating our mission on local and national stages attracts the multi-year partnerships, grants, and philanthropic investments required to keep our services 100% free for active firefighters and build our long-term endowment for future generations.
To protect the absolute trust we have cultivated within the FDNY community over the last 25 years, we maintain strict standards around all press participation and require opt-in consent for all photos, quotes, and personal stories to protect client confidentiality without exception.
